NADCP is proud to share a free webinar from the Providers Clinical Support System, sponsored by the American Psychiatric Association (APA): “Expanding Access to Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder to Patients in the Hospital.”

This webinar will address the significant increase in emergency department visits and hospitalizations due to increased opioid use disorders and related morbidity and mortality. It will provide an overview of the opioid epidemic and the laws and regulations that dictate how MAT (primarily buprenorphine and methadone) can be used in the treatment of opioid use disorder in hospitals. It will discuss some hospital-based initiatives currently underway across the country, as well as regulatory exceptions that allow providers to use medication to treat opioid use disorder in patients seen in the emergency department or admitted to the hospital.
