Several jurisdictions in the U.S. have taken steps toward decriminalizing marijuana possession for personal use or when recommended by a physician for medicinal purposes. Other jurisdictions have pending ballot initiatives or legislative bills proposing such changes in the law.

The NADCP Board of Directors NADCP has determined that it is essential for Drug Court practitioners to be fully and objectively informed about the effects of marijuana on their participants and the public at-large. This document briefly reviews the scientific evidence concerning the effects of marijuana.
