NADCP Holds Historic Conference in Nation’s Capital

In the twenty-two year history of Drug Courts, there has never been a more historic and impactful four-day stretch than what occurred in late July during NADCP’s 17th Annual Drug Court Training Conference. The world’s largest conference on addiction and the criminal justice system was also the largest in NADCP’s history, with over 3,600 state and federal justice leaders, celebrities, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, clinicians, police, probation officers, veterans, business owners, Drug Court graduates and family members from around the world in attendance.

Highlights from all four days in two minutes!

From July 17-20, Drug Court professionals attended over 250 hours of educational seminars, enjoyed an incredible Opening Ceremony, tapped their feet and laughed their way through the Jokes and Jazz for Vets benefit, rocked Capitol Hill at a massive rally with eleven Members of Congress and five national celebrities, held hundreds of Congressional meetings, attending the first-ever Drug Court hearing before the U.S. Senate, and capped it off with a star-studded Closing Ceremony.

Throughout it all, Drug Courts and NADCP received more national press than ever before, spreading the message to millions that Drug Courts are a proven budget solution.

It was four days to remember! Over the next several weeks, NADCP will release more videos from the conference. In the meantime, we invite you to explore our conference web pages, download session handouts, watch highlights, download your favorite pictures, and share the experience with your friends and colleagues.
